THE DREAM

I had a dream the other night,I did not understandA figure walking through the mist, with flintlock in his handHis clothes were torn and dirty; As he stood there by my bed,he took off his three cornered hatAnd speaking low, he said,"We fought a revolutionto secure our LibertyWe wrote the Constitution,as a shield from tyrannyFor future generationsthis legacy we gaveIn this, the land of the freeand the home of the braveThe freedom we secured for you,we hoped you'd always keepBut tyrants labored endlessly, while your parents were asleepYour freedom gone - Your courage lostYou're no more than a slaveIn this, the land of the freeand the home of the braveYou buy a permit to travel, and a permit to own a gunPermits to start a businessor to build a place for oneOn land that you believe you own,you pay a yearly rentAlthough you have no voice in choosing, how the money's spentYour children must attend a school, that does not educateYour Christian values can't be taught, according to the StateYou read about the current newsin a regulated pressYou pay a tax you do not owe,to please the fools who rule instead of leadingYour money is no longer madeof silver or goldYou trade your wealth for paper,so your life can be controlledYou pay for crimesthat make your nation turnfrom God in shameYou've taken Satans number,as you traded in your nameYou've given government controlto those who do you harm,so they can padlock churches, and steal the family farmAnd keep our country deep in debt, put men of God in jail, harass your fellow countrymenWhile corrupted courts prevailYour public servantsdon't uphold the solemn oath they sworeYour daughters visit doctors,so their children won't be bornYour leaders ship artilleryand guns to foreign shores, and send your sons to slaughter,to fight other peoples warsCan you regain your freedom, for which we fought and died,or don't you have the courageor the faith to stand with prideAre there no more valuesfor which you would fight to save,or do you wish your children,to live in fear and be a slaveSons of the Republic, arise and take a standDefend the Constitution, the supreme law of the landPreserve our great Republic, and teach each God given right, and pray to God to keep the torchof freedom burning bright..."
